Goodbye Colleagues

10 colleagues at work were let go recently due to the poor economy in Calgary. Some were very good friends of mine and it was particularly tough to see them go. I can only hope it will get better and they'll find jobs very quickly.

My wounds seem to be healing fine, although my pride took a direct hit. I'm going to resume skating on Monday - but this time I'll be using my elbow pads, knee pads, wrist guards & helmet. I might eventually buy a moto jacket or a protective armour suit just in case I land on my back again - its very dangerous to land unprotected on your back. Fortunately I had a backpack but it kind of shattered a corner of my laptop and ripped a hole in my bag.

Although people might think I'm crazy and yes, it could be a sign of dementia or mid-life crisis.... I won 't change. I enjoy skateboarding and can't wait until I get my Boosted Dual+ extended board in a month or so. I've been using the Strava app to track my progress on the board and I've been doing fairly well so far - except for my crash.
